Harmonic Tech from the USA has developed a new power cable specifically designed for source equipment using spiral and oval conductor technology. The conductors are designed in an oval shape, effectively reducing the impact of the skin effect. The insulation is made from low-capacitance PE insulation, allowing for smoother and more natural transmission across the three frequency ranges, thus enhancing overall coherence.
The manufacturer has employed a 45-degree spiral arrangement in the cable design, which closely resembles the structure of DNA, hence it is sometimes referred to as the DNA Helix. This design significantly enhances durability and makes the cable more flexible. Due to the arrangement of the positive and negative conductors at 45 degrees, their magnetic fields effectively cancel each other out, creating a natural shielding effect. Additionally, high-purity brass foil is used for shielding, resulting in a background as quiet as the deep sea, providing a more natural and spacious sound.
The Florida power cable consists of three groups of AWG16 single-crystal copper conductors. In terms of sound quality, it offers a neutral and balanced tonal character, with excellent vocal articulation, natural high frequencies, and well-controlled low frequencies. According to the manufacturer, this cable is highly suitable for audio sources such as CD players (CDP), CD transports (CDT), digital-to-analog converters (DAC), clocks, and preamps.
