一般 USB 線材在同一條線內同時配置數位信號線匯流排供電的電源線。當信號線與電源線混在一起時,彼此產生的磁場與電場相互干擾,會導致訊號品質與音質大幅劣化。這正是以便利性為優先的 USB 線材在結構上的最大缺點。即使使用再高性能的導體、絕緣材或屏蔽設計,也無法避免信號線與電源線之間的相互干擾,因此難以實現真正優異的傳輸特性與音質表現。

The Challenge with Standard USB Cables

Typical USB cables combine digital signal lines and power lines for bus power in a single cable. When signal and power lines are mixed, the magnetic and electric fields they generate can interfere with each other, significantly degrading signal quality and sound. This structural flaw is a major drawback of USB cables designed with convenience as a priority. Even with high-performance conductors, insulating materials, or shielding designs, interference between signal and power lines cannot be entirely avoided, making it difficult to achieve truly excellent transmission characteristics and sound performance.

ACOUSTIC REVIVE’s Innovative Solution

R-AU1-SP / R-AU1-PL utilizes ACOUSTIC REVIVE’s patented structure, completely separating signal lines from power lines. Each line uses a dedicated dual-core shielded cable to eliminate mutual interference, achieving high purity sound performance without transmission degradation.

Low Dielectric Constant Fluoropolymer Insulation

A key factor that influences signal transmission characteristics, even more than the conductor itself, is the insulating material. The important industrial measure for assessing the performance of insulating materials is the “dielectric constant.” A lower value indicates less obstruction to the flow of current and better transmission performance. Most commercially available USB cables still use PVC (polyvinyl chloride) as insulation, with a dielectric constant as high as 5.6. Even high-priced audio USB cables often upgrade only to PE (polyethylene), with a dielectric constant around 2.3 to 2.4. In contrast, fluoropolymer has a dielectric constant of about 2.1, making it the best-performing grade among insulating materials. The R-AU1-SP, with its fluoropolymer insulation, achieves overwhelming high-speed transmission performance.

Natural Silk Buffer Layer

The buffer layer of R-AU1-SP / R-AU1-PL incorporates natural silk, which effectively reduces vibration and static electricity. This minimizes the impact of vibrations on transmission while further enhancing overall transmission quality.

Natural silk is less likely to carry an electric charge, effectively preventing static buildup. Should it become charged, its positive (+) polarity can cancel out the negative (-) polarity static that most insulating resin materials easily generate, further enhancing static neutralization.

Copper Shielding for Optimal Audio Frequencies

The shielding layer of R-AU1-SP / R-AU1-PL uses copper, which provides excellent shielding characteristics for the critical “audio frequency range” essential for music production and playback. While aluminum or other lightweight metal shielding materials perform well in suppressing high-frequency electromagnetic waves, they are limited in the important audio frequency range and can introduce tonal coloration. In contrast, copper shielding does not add tonal coloration and effectively protects the audio frequency range, blocking external noise and achieving a high S/N ratio with pure and natural sound quality.
